The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

The Kite Runner is the best book I have read in a very long time. "The unforgettable, heartbreaking story of the unlikely friendship between a wealthy boy and the son of his father's servant, The Kite Runner is a beautifully crafted novel set in a country that is in the process of being destroyed. It is about the power of reading, the price of betrayal, and the possibility of redemption, and it is also about the power of fathers over sons—their love, their sacrifices, their lies."

I have had it on my shelf for quite some time. I picked it up and always passed it over for another novel. I saw the previews for the movie that will be released in December and decided I had to read the book before the movie came out. I'm so glad I did. If anyone is interested in reading it, I will loan you my copy. Just return it to me when you are done. I warn you, once you start it, you will not want to put it down.

I loved this book!!! It can be a little slow at the beginning, but I could not put this book down after the first couple of chapters.

Ok, I finished it last night. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I haven't read a book that drenched with regret and disappointment in a long time. And I am so glad I finished it before the previews bombarded the TV with scenes that I could figure out.
